App Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the EMO mobile apps — distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play — and the EMO service behind them handle your information. It is provided to meet the privacy policy requirements of both app stores, alongside our website Privacy Policy.

EMO Software Oy, Helsinki, Finland, is the controller for the personal data described here.

Account information: if you create an EMO account, we collect your email address and authentication details needed to sign you in.

Your content: the work information you create in EMO — sessions, tasks, reports, files and related notes — is stored so the app can function and sync across your devices.

Technical information: standard service log information (such as device type, app version, requested address and timestamp) is processed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service.

Crash and diagnostic data: if the app crashes or malfunctions, a short diagnostic report may be collected so we can fix the problem.

The apps request only the permissions they need to work — for example notifications, or access to files or the camera when you choose to attach something. You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings, and the app will keep working with reduced functionality where relevant.

We use your information to provide and improve the EMO service, keep your account secure, sync your content, communicate with you about the service, and fix problems.

We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

The EMO apps contain no advertising, no third-party advertising SDKs, no analytics trackers and no cross-app profiling. We do not collect location data in the background.

Your information is processed by the service providers we rely on to run EMO — such as cloud hosting, authentication and storage providers — under contracts that limit their use of your data to providing the service.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of EMO Software Oy, our users or others.

Your content is kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and content are deleted from our systems, except where we must retain limited information by law or for legitimate security purposes.

You can also request deletion at any time by contacting us using the details below.

EMO is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

We protect your information with measures appropriate to the data, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, and access limited to people who need it to run the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to keep your data safe.

If you are in the EU or EEA, you have rights under the GDPR, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and the right to object to processing. You can also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

Contact us and we will act on your request. You can revoke your consent to optional processing at any time.

Apple App Store: our App Privacy answers in the App Store describe the data categories listed in this policy accurately. If this policy changes, we update our App Store disclosures.

Google Play: our Data safety section in Google Play describes the data the app collects, how it is handled and whether deletion is available, consistent with this policy.

We may update this policy as the EMO apps evolve. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email before they take effect. The date below shows when the policy was last updated.
